HELLO

I registered this domain last year and then decided not to use it, but some of the comics I've published have this URL printed on them, so I feel obligated to put something here lol.  Uh, greetings from Web 1.0? This page exists solely to document my comics and other junk that have been published in one form or another, mostly self-published.

The main website for my comics is hearts-n-stars.net

Minicomics
Quarter-folded minicomics!  The first few of these were sloppily-made, some in pencil, created to easily copy and mail to my internet friends.  The newer ones are short stories created mainly to practice inking in Procreate.
(no image ;_;)
Minicomic #1 Art Club Goes to Hawaii (Summer/Fall 2005?)
I lost my copy of this! This is pretty much the only thing I have made in the past twenty years that I don't have anymore.
Anyway, this was a parody of when sitcoms like the Brady Bunch run out of ideas, so they pick the characters up and move them to a new setting, like Hawaii or outer space or something.

Minicomic #2 Hoshi no Hitomi no Silhouette (October 2005)
A retelling of one of my favorite manga.  As the tagline says, 2,000 pages condensed into fifteen.  The manga is about a girl who feels guilty for having a crush on the same boy as her friend, and when it turns out the boy likes her back, it makes things even more awkward.  To say that I borrowed heavily from this manga when working on Art Club is an understatement.

Minicomic #3 This is Not a Drill!!1 (October 2005)
Eight pages of short stories/anecdotes.  Has not aged great, but neither have I lol.

Minicomic #4 More Low-Budget Art Club Fun!! (February 2006)
Twelve pages of gags that are largely not funny by 2025 standards.  Also features jokes involving weeaboos and MySpace, ohhh boy!

Minicomic #5 Dreams that I Have Had (April 2007)
Exactly what it says on the tin: recalling weird-ass dreams I've had.  Freud would have a field day. Twelve pages.

Minicomic #6 Me & My Fat Pants (March 2025)
Musings on weight loss, pregnancy, accomplishments, all that crap.  Eight pages.  Eveything from here on out is eight pages.

Minicomic #7 The Cool Kids Show (June 2025)
A retrospective of the fake radio show my sister and I made as kids in the 90s.

Minicomic #8 Dust Stuff (June 2025)
Dad makes my sister and me do housework so we can find husbands when we grow up.

More Publications!

Junk (2025)
Three-page comic featured in the Junk Drawer issue of Wisteria Zine

Just My Size: A Brassiereography (2007)
Three-page comic featured in a zine called Knicker Draw.  Available online here!

(PS It turns out that everything I knew about bra sizing was wrong and even when I wrote this, my bras were way, way, way too small.  If you hate your boobs, no matter the size, get fitted by a professional who does NOT use the +4 method or use the calculator at abrathatfits.tk)

The Scary Stories Club (2007)
A personal essay that was published in issue 5 of the literary journal Chimera.  Won prize for best prose.  Here's the same story in comic form!

Honorable mention: My first published cartoon was for a design-an-ad contest when I was in the fifth grade!  I made an ad for a local jewelry store. Appeared in the May 8, 1996 issue of the Altoona Mirror, in a supplement to the paper that was not archived anywhere, including online archives, the local library, microform, the newspaper itself, etc. I have the entire supplement EXCEPT for the page my cartoon appeared on! It was thrown away by my mother about twenty years ago with a bunch of my other comics.  Ugh.
